Update

This is just an update so you don't think I've completely abandoned this blog. I have another contest in the works that I'm hoping to put up later this week. I'm still trying to decide exactly what I'm doing.
I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year's. =)

Wake Winner

Ready for the winner? The Contest Winner Picker chose...
Andrea [Buried In Books]

Congrats. :)

Unfortunately, I only have one book left to give away- The Realm of Possibility by David Levithan. I think I'll wait for a couple of weeks before putting it up because I don't want the contests to end. I'll have to find cheap books somewhere to buy and give away. Any ideas, let me know. :)

Wake Contest

Wake by Lisa McMann

For seventeen-year-old Janie, getting sucked into other people's dreams is getting old. Especially the falling dreams, the naked-but-nobody-notices dreams, and the sex-crazed dreams. Janie's seen enough fantasy booty to last her a lifetime.

She can't tell anybody about what she does -- they'd never believe her, or worse, they'd think she's a freak. So Janie lives on the fringe, cursed with an ability she doesn't want and can't control.

Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. For the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else's twisted psyche. She is a participant....

Dust of 100 Dogs Winner

It's time to announce the winner of The Dust of 100 Dogs! This time I used The Contest Winner Picker, which was much easier than using random.org. And it picked...

Celeste!

Congratulations. :D I'll email you in a minute.
So thank you again to everyone who entered. The next contest will be up next weekend probably. I'm starting to run low on books to give away, so I might start spacing the contests out a bit. I don't know what I'll do when I run out.
Have a good week. =)

The Dust of 100 Dogs Contest

Ready for the next contest?

The Dust of 100 Dogs by AS King

In the late seventeenth century, famed teenage pirate Emer Morrisey was on the cusp of escaping the pirate life with her one true love and unfathomable riches when she was slain and cursed with the dust of one hundred dogs, dooming her to one hundred lives as a dog before returning to a human body -- with her memories intact.

Now she's a contemporary American teenager and all she needs is a shovel and a ride to Jamaica.

One winner will receive a paperback copy of the book as well as a few matching bookmarks. It's a really awesome book; I would definitely recommend it.

Wow, when that last contest started I had 78 followers, and now I've made it past 100 already! That is completely awesome. Thanks again everyone!
So, without further ado, the winner is...

Adrienne of An Addicted Book Reader!

Congratulations!
She chose A Map of the Known World. There will be contests for the other two books again soon. The next one probably won't be up until next weekend. I think it will be for The Dust of 100 Dogs by AS King, but I'm not entirely sure yet.
See you then. =)

75 Followers Contest- Your Choice!

Hey everyone! It's Banned Books Week!
My next contest is going to be slightly different because I reached 75 followers. Thank you so much everyone! In celebration of that, I'm going to let you pick which book (out of 3) you want to win.
Here are the options:

Wake by Lisa McMann (paperback)

Ever since she was eight years old, high school student Janie Hannagan has been uncontrollably drawn into other people's dreams, but it is not until she befriends an elderly nursing home patient and becomes involved with an enigmatic fellow-student that she discovers her true power.

The Realm of Possibility by David Levithan (hardback)

Enter The Realm of Possibility and meet a boy whose girlfriend is in love with Holden Caulfield; a girl who loves the boy who wears all black; a boy with the perfect body; and a girl who writes love songs for a girl she can’t have. These are just a few of the captivating characters readers will get to know in this intensely heartfelt new novel about those ever-changing moments of love and heartbreak that go hand-in-hand with high school. David Levithan plumbs the depths of teenage emotion to create an amazing array of voices that readers won’t forget. So, enter their lives and prepare to welcome the realm of possibility open to us all. Love, joy, and these stories will linger.

A Map of the Known World by Lisa Ann Sandell (hardback)

Cora Bradley dreams of escape. Ever since her reckless older brother, Nate, died in a car crash, Cora has felt suffocated by her small town and high school. She seeks solace in drawing beautiful maps, envisioning herself in exotic locales. When Cora begins to fall for Damian, the handsome, brooding boy who was in the car with Nate the night he died, she uncovers her brother's secret artistic life and realizes she had more in common with him than she ever imagined. With stunning lyricism, Sandell weaves a tale of one girl's journey through the redemptive powers of art, friendship, and love.

There will be just one winner of one book. I'll also throw in a few Dust of 100 Dogs bookmarks.

Ash Contest

In the wake of her father's death, Ash is left at the mercy of her cruel stepmother. Consumed with grief, her only joy comes by the light of the dying hearth fire, rereading the fairy tales her mother once told her. In her dreams, someday the fairies will steal her away, as they are said to do. When she meets the dark and dangerous fairy Sidhean, she believes that her wish may be granted.

The day that Ash meets Kaisa, the King's Huntress, her heart begins to change. Instead of chasing fairies, Ash learns to hunt with Kaisa. Though their friendship is as delicate as a new bloom, it reawakens Ash's capacity for love-and her desire to live. But Sidhean has already claimed Ash for his own, and she must make a choice between fairy tale dreams and true love.

Entrancing, empowering, and romantic, Ash is about the connection between life and love, and solitude and death, where transformation can come from even the deepest grief.

One winner will receive an ARC of Ash my Malinda Lo. The book just came out in hardback on September 1st, but ARCs are always awesome, right?

Impossible Contest

Lucy has nine months to break an ancient curse in order to save both herself and her unborn daughter.
Inspired by the ballad "Scarborough Fair", this riveting novel combines suspense, fantasy, and romance for an intensely page-turning and masterfully original tale.

Lucy is seventeen when she discovers that the women of her family have been cursed through the generations, forced to attempt three seemingly impossible tasks or to fall into madness upon their child's birth. But Lucy is the first girl who won't be alone as she tackles the list. She has her fiercely protective foster parents and her childhood friend Zach beside her. Do they have love and strength enough to overcome an age-old evil?

One winner will receive a copy of the new paperback edition of Impossible by Nancy Werlin (as seen in the picture).

I really enjoyed this book. It is very unique; I've never read anything quite like it before.

And the winner of Along for the Ride, chosen by random.org is.....

Alexandra!

Congratulations! I will send you an email shortly.

The next contest will be up later this week or next weekend at the latest. It will either be for Impossible by Nancy Werlin (paperback) or A Map of the Known World by Lisa Ann Sandell (hardback). Along for the Ride Contest

It’s been so long since Auden slept at night. Ever since her parents’ divorce—or since the fighting started. Now she has the chance to spend a carefree summer with her dad and his new family in the charming beach town where they live. A job in a clothes boutique introduces Auden to the world of girls: their talk, their friendship, their crushes. She missed out on all that, too busy being the perfect daughter to her demanding mother. Then she meets Eli, an intriguing loner and a fellow insomniac who becomes her guide to the nocturnal world of the town. Together they embark on parallel quests: for Auden, to experience the carefree teenage life she’s been denied; for Eli, to come to terms with the guilt he feels for the death of a friend.

One winner will receive a copy of Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen. It's a wonderful book; I really enjoyed it.
